The CDC has received reports of over 300 cases of heart inflammation among young individuals who had received vaccination against COVID-19, reported NBC News.

In all, over 20 million adolescents and young adults have been inoculated in the U.S. and despite being rare, the 300 cases are higher than anticipated in this age group. During a meeting scheduled for June 23-25, CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will discuss updated research and safety data and the potential association between the reported cases of heart inflammation and the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
