People vaccinated with BioNTech (22UAy.DE) COVID-19 vaccine have been noted to have considerably higher levels of antibodies compared to those who have been vaccinated with Sinovacs COVID-19 shot, reported the South China Morning Post, citing a Hong Kong study.

Lead investigator Professor Benjamin Cowling, an epidemiologist with the University of Hong Kong (HKU), has stated that some of the individuals who have been administered the Sinovac vaccine might require a third booster dose. The study conducted by HKUs School of Public Health assessed the antibody responses of 1,000 individuals who received either vaccine. Earlier, Indonesian officials had cautioned that over 350 medical workers had contracted COVID-19 infection despite being inoculated with Sinovac vaccine and dozens had been hospitalized, thus raising concerns over the vaccine’s efficacy against more infectious variants… (Reuters, June 19, 2021)
