The United Kingdom is currently experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 infections owing to the highly transmissible Delta variant, stated Professor Adam Finn, a top expert who advises the government on the country’s vaccination program.

Finn said that the UK is in a race between the vaccines and the Delta variant. He added that he was not confident that the UKs vaccination program can outpace the Delta variant at the current rate of vaccination; however, he was optimistic. The updated Office for National Statistics (ONS) data indicate a rise; however, this increase has not accelerated quite as much.
