Switzerland to start vaccinating youngsters against COVID-19

Switzerland is expected to allow COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 12 to 15 years this week, reported government vaccine chief Christoph Berger.

The country approved inoculation for 12-to-15-year-old children with the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTEch on June 4, which was way ahead of the plan to start immunization of the younger population starting as early as July. Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine is approved in the country for inoculating adults, and the company has also sought approval for its vaccine for use in the 12- to 17-year-old age group, which is currently being reviewed by the drugs regulator Swissmedic… (Reuters, June 20, 2021)
