India vaccinates over 30 crore people against COVID-19

Indias COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the 30 crore-mark, stated the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

According to a provisional report issued at 7 pm on Wednesday, the country has administered 30,09,69,538 vaccine doses thus far. Wednesday saw over 58.34 lakh vaccine doses administered to the eligible beneficiaries. In the 18-44 years age group, a total of 41,23,073 vaccine doses were administered as first dose while 68,903 were administered as second dose. Overall, 7,02,11,075 individuals across 37 States/UTs have been given the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 14,98,113 beneficiaries have been given a second dose since the start of phase-3 of the vaccination drive, stated the Ministry.

The country registered 50,848 new COVID-19 cases and 68,817 recoveries in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.67%... (NDTV – ANI, June 23, 2021)
