Two brothers assaulted a doctor at Sion hospital, case registered

Two brothers, Rajesh Gupta, aged 36, and his brother Roshan Gupta, aged 39, assaulted a doctor at the civic-run Sion Hospital following the death of their father during treatment last week.

A police official said that the brothers assaulted the doctor on Friday afternoon. A case has been registered against the men underseveral sections of the Indian Penal Code for assault and hinderinga government official from carrying out his duty and also under the Maharashtra Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions Act 2010, (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property).

Doctors at Sion Hospital asked for justice by lighting candles on Sunday night. Police officials have left for Nashik to arrest the brothers.
