The chief of a scientific advisory body to the UK government has said that the country’s mass vaccination campaign against COVID-19 has weakened the link between infections and deaths; however, it is yet to be broken completely.

Peter Horby, chair of the governments New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG), told BBC that Britain was witnessing a much reduced level of hospital admissions. He added that vaccines have definitely weakened the link between the virus and serious illness and mortality.
