Third dose of AstraZeneca vaccine 6 months after second works well: Study

According to a new study by Oxford University, delayed second and third doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine appear to boost immunity against COVID-19.

Investigators noted that an interval of up to 45 weeks between the first and second dose of the vaccine enhanced the immune response. Furthermore, administering a third dose of the vaccine over six months following the second shot considerably enhances the antibodies and gives a "strong boost" to the immune response. Lead investigator of the study, Andrew Pollard, said that there is an excellent response to a second dose, given even 10 months after the first jab. This is a pre-print study, and has yet to be peer-reviewed… (NDTV – AFP, June 28, 2021)
