Niti Aayog member Dr VK Paul has warned that the second wave of COVID-19 is not over yet despite the fact that the country is witnessing a fall in the number of new cases.

Dr Paul said that central teams have been sent to states that are experiencing an increase in cases. He emphasized that no one is safe until the entire country is safe. Talking about the third wave of COVID-19, Dr Paul said that we must be prepared in terms of infrastructure in rural areas, arrangements for children, ICU beds, medicines, etc. However, the effort would be to stop any new outbreak. He added that if people are disciplined, the third wave will not emerge.

He also mentioned about a recent study from PGI Chandigarh conducted on police personnel which indicated that vaccine efficacy in those who had received a single dose was 92% and among those who had been administered two doses, it was 98%... (NDTV – ANI, July 2, 2021)
