Sputnik V vaccine will be produced at the manufacturing units of Serum Institute of India from the month of September. The Russian RDIF (Russian Direct Investment Fund) has stated that their aim is to produce more than 300 million doses in India per year. 

The technology transfer has already begun and the first vaccine batch is expected in September. A statement from RDIF mentioned that SII has received cell and vector samples from the Gamaleya Center. With the import approved by the Drug Controller General of India, the cultivation process has started.
