Around 40 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in India thus far, including more than 38.79 lakh doses given on Friday, stated data from the health ministry. 

Overall, 16,35,591 individuals in the age group of 18-44 years were administered the first dose and 2,11,553 received their second dose of the vaccine on Friday. A total of 12,16,46,175 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years have been administered the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 45,98,664 have been given the second dose across the country since the third phase of the countrywide vaccination drive began. Eight states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, have inoculated over 50 lakh people each in the age group of 18-44 years with the first dose of a COVID vaccine… (ET Healthworld – PTI, July 17, 2021)
