81% in Ahmedabad have COVID antibodies: Sero survey

The final results of the fifth round of COVID sero survey from Ahmedabad, conducted from May 28 to June 3, are out. The levels of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies among Ahmedabad’s residents are the highest in the city’s southwest zone, encompassing areas of Vejalpur, Jodhpur, Sarkhej, and Maktampura. Around 87% of the people sampled in this zone were found to have COVID antibodies.

The overall seropositivity in around 5,000 people sampled in the city was estimated as 81.63%. Preliminary results of the sero survey reported in June had shown that over 70% of the Amdavadis had antibodies against COVID-19. In addition to the southwest zone, 87% of the people in the south zone had COVID antibodies. This zone includes areas such as Maninagar, Indrapuri, Kankaria, Vatva, Lambha, and Behrampura… (ET Healthworld – TNN, July 19, 2021)
