Single day COVID case count in national capital lowest in over a year

The national capital registered 36 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest count in a day in more than a year. The day saw three more fatalities. 

On April 15, 2020, Delhi had recorded 17 cases. The positivity rate in Delhi is 0.06%, as per a bulletin by the Delhi health department. It mentioned that 58 people had recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the city stood at 25,030 while cumulative cases stand at 14,35,565.

The bulletin stated that around 14,09,968 individuals have either been discharged, have recovered or have migrated out. The case fatality rate in the city is 1.74%.

Overall, 59,410 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in Delhi. The city has 567 active cases at present. A total of 183 patients are in home isolation. The number of containment zones in the city has come down to 407, compared to 409 on Sunday. Out of 12,754 beds in hospitals, 339 are currently occupied.

The infection rate was 36% in the last week of April, which now stands at 0.06%.
