India administers more than 41.76 crore vaccine doses against COVID-19

The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in in India thus far has surpassed 41.76 crore, stated the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.

Over 20.83 lakh doses were administered on Wednesday. According to the ministry, 10,04,581 vaccine shots have been administered as first dose and 95,964 as second dose to people in the 18 to 44 years age group. Overall, 13,04,46,413 individuals in this age group across all states and Union Territories have been administered a first dose and 53,17,567 have received the second dose since the phase three of the vaccination drive began.

In Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, over 1 crore doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the age group of 18-44 years. In Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Odisha, and West Bengal, over 10 lakh people in the age group 18 to 44 years have received the first dose of COVID vaccine.
