Bharat Biotech will probably administer the second dose of Covaxin to children in the 2 to 6 years age group next week, revealed sources.

Children in the said age group have already received their first dose of the vaccine. The second dose of the vaccine has already been administered to children aged between 6 and 12 years at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, which is one of the trial centers for the vaccine for individuals below 18 years of age. The results of the clinical trials are expected in one month after the trials of all age groups are completed, stated sources.

The trial is carried out in three phases where children are divided into age-based categories. The first trial was initiated in the age group of 12-18 years, followed by the 6-12 years age group and finally the 2-6 years age group, which is undergoing trials at present… (ET Healthworld – ANI, July 23, 2021)
