Vaccinated Individuals in Singapore Constitute Three-Quarters of Recent COVID-19 Cases

About three-fourths of the new COVID-19 infections in Singapore over the last four weeks were reported among vaccinated individuals, indicate government data.

Singapore has vaccinated around 75% of its population of 5.7 million, with half the population being fully vaccinated. Singapore registered 1,096 locally transmitted cases over the last 28 days. A total of 484 cases (44%) were among fully vaccinated individuals, while 30% were among partially vaccinated people. The remaining were among unvaccinated individuals. Only seven severe patients needed oxygen support. Six of them were unvaccinated while one was partially vaccinated. The government said that all the fully vaccinated and infected people had no symptoms or mild symptoms… (NDTV – Reuters, July 23, 2021)
