Two-third of population in 11 Indian states has COVID antibodies

A serosurvey done by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), from June 14 through July 6, has shown that around two-third of the population surveyed across 11 states has developed antibodies against SARS-CoV-2.

Madhya Pradesh tops the list with 79% seroprevalence while Kerala has the least seroprevalence, at 44.4%. Assam has 50.3% seroprevalence while Maharashtra has 58%. Seroprevalence among the surveyed population in Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha was reported at 76.2%, 75.9%, 75.3%, 74.6%, 73.1%, 71%, 70.2%, 69.8%, 69.2% and 68.1%, respectively.
