Over four billion COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the globe within eight months of the onset of the vaccination drive against the viral disease, revealed an AFP count.

However, the global vaccination rate has slowed slightly. The mark of fourth billion dose was attained in 30 days, while it took 26 days to reach the previous one billion. The first billion was reached in 140 days while the second billion was reached after about 40 days. 

Around 40% of the four billion doses (1.6 billion) have been administered in China. India has administered 451 million and the US has given 343 million doses thus far. The U.S. and EU have nearly half their population fully vaccinated, while the information is not available from China on this… (ET Healthworld, July 30, 2021)
