Ob-gyn associations recommend COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy

Two major organizations that represent obstetricians and gynecologists have recommended that individuals who are pregnant should be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) stated that the recommendation is based on evidence obtained from thousands of pregnant individuals that the vaccines are safe to be used during pregnancy. Dr. J. Martin Tucker, president of ACOG, said that pregnant people must feel confident that choosing COVID-19 vaccination protects them, their families and communities at large.

The associations made a strong recommendation that their members should recommend COVID-19 vaccination to their patients… (CNN, July 30, 2021)
