Authorities in Wuhan, China, are set to test the city’s entire population for COVID-19 after the first local infections were reported in the city in over a year.

A senior official, Li Tao, said that the city of 11 million people is starting comprehensive nucleic acid testing of all the residents. On Monday, it was announced that seven locally transmitted infections had been reported among migrant workers. China has restricted the people of entire cities to their homes and has launched mass testing over the past few days as it fights the largest COVID-19 outbreak in months.
