A study evaluated the cosmetic effect using the electrostimulation plaster for facial rejuvenation. "Aganyan" plaster bears uniqueness that the electrical stimulation can be used for long-term stimulation with low voltage and current without the use of wires and batteries. so it is a novel, non-invasive method of skin rejuvenation using electrostimulation plasters

The study enrolled 106 participants with perioral wrinkles of the skin. Four patches (2 copper and 2 zinc) were applied on the face of the participants in the area of wrinkles crosswise according to the instructions. These were applied for eight hours every third day for three months.

Tactile and visual assessments of the effects of the patch were carried out by the participants for three months, as well as a clinical assessment of treatment results was done. The immediate results were assessed after 1 month while long-term results were assessed after 3 months of observation.

Photographs were utilized to compare the Perioral wrinkles before and after the therapy, while efficacy was assessed according to the International Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS Table 1-3) on the 1st (M01), 2nd (M02), 3rd (M03), 6th (M06) month of complex therapy.

The observations of the study were as follows-

A decrease in puffiness and dark circles under the eyes was noted in 40% of men and 37.4% women;

Smoothing of small mimic wrinkles was noted in 22.6%(all women) of participants

Lifting of the face oval was noted in 13.2%(all women) of participants

Evaluation of the effectiveness of the GAIS procedure on M03 and M05 showed significant improvement in 2/3 of patients.

Most of the patients also showed significant improvement at visit M12.

38% of patients demonstrated a decrease in the puffiness and dark circles under the eyes,

23% of participants showed smoothened fine facial wrinkles,

12% of participants showed tightening of the oval of the face.

Thus electrostimulation plaster can serve as a novel therapy for controlled skin rejuvenation, effective wrinkles and folds, and this method of skin rejuvenation using electrostimulation proves to be effective on the clinical manifestations of skin.
