Metformin associated with lower risk of TB in type 2 diabetes patients

Results of a retrospective cohort study show that predominantly metformin-users in the initial two years had a significantly lower risk for tuberculosis (TB). Compared to sulfonylurea-users, non-CKD type 2 diabetes patients on metformin had a significantly lower TB risk.
