India recorded 35,499 new COVID-19 infections, which took the case tally for the country to 3,19,69,954, revealed data from the Union Health Ministry on Monday. With 447 new deaths reported due to COVID-19, the death toll increased to 4,28,309.

The number of active cases in the country came down to 4,02,188 and constituted 1.27% of the total infections. The national recovery rate increased to 97.39%, revealed the latest data. The active COVID-19 case load declined by 4,634 cases over a 24-hour period. Overall, 3,11,39,457 people were reported to have recovered from the disease and the case fatality rate stood at 1.34%. Close to 13,71,871 COVID-19 tests were done on Sunday with the total number of test conducted in the country standing at 48,17,67,232 thus far… (NDTV, August 10, 2021)
