The World Health Organization has stated that a case of Ebola has been reported from Abidjan. This is the first Ebola case in Ivory Coast in over a quarter century.

According to health officials, it is not yet known if the case is associated with an outbreak that occurred earlier this year in Guinea, which was declared over in mid-June. The patient had arrived in Abidjan on Thursday by bus from Guinea. This has raised concerns that other people may have become infected during the journey.
