Two infants died in separate incidents on Wednesday, due to alleged negligence, in Warangal and Bhadrachalam in Telangana.

A four-day-old infant died at the Care Children’s Hospital in Warangal, following which the baby’s parents and relatives protested in front of the hospital and alleged medical negligence.

The baby’s family said the hospital authorities did not disclose anything about the treatment or the delivery and after four days of treatment, they were informed that the baby had died. Matwada police inspector said that a case has not been registered yet as the infant’s parents have not filed a complaint.

In another incident, a tribal couple from Nagineniprolu village in Burgampad mandal protested at the Bhadrachalam Area Hospital. They alleged that their baby died during delivery because of medical negligence. They asked for strict action against the staff and doctors responsible for the incident.

Sources revealed that Vennela was admitted to the hospital after developing labor pains on Tuesday. After examination, the doctors said that her condition was stable and recommended normal delivery. However, her condition deteriorated by night. Her husband Banothu Raju and other relatives approached the medical staff, but no one attended to her.

Vennela, therefore, had to give birth to her child without the help of any doctors or medical staff, except for one nurse. The child died thereafter. The victim’s relatives protested due to which the hospital authorities had to call the police who controlled the situation.
