The government of Britain has told Englands health service to prepare for a mass COVID-19 vaccination program for children 12 to 15 years of age starting in September, if a go-ahead is received from the vaccination experts.

A first vaccine dose has already been offered to 16- and 17-year-olds in England and 12- to 15-year-olds with certain underlying health conditions as well as those who live with an immunosuppressed individual. Britains health ministry stated that they have to be prepared and start those vaccinations as early as possible if the vaccination advisers supported extending the program to all children aged between 12 and 15 years.
