New Delhi: India registered a record high of daily COVID-19 cases in over two months as 47,092 cases were reported in a single day, taking the country′s total case numbers to 3,28,57,937. 

The last time the daily infection numbers were higher than this was on July 1, which was 63 days ago, when 48,786 infections were reported in a day. The number of active cases constitutes 1.19% of the total infections in the country and stands at 3,89,583, as per the data from the Union health ministry. 

Active cases have increased by 11,402 in 24 hours. A total of 509 deaths were reported taking the toll to 4,39,529. The recovery rate across the country stands at 97.48%.
