More children hospitalized with COVID in states with lower vaccination rates: CDC

More children were hospitalized and went to the emergency room in states where the vaccination rates were lower, suggests a new study from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The study noted that hospitalizations and emergency room visits for children with COVID-19 spiked from June to August this year. Over two weeks in mid to late August, emergency room visits were 3.4-fold higher in the states with the lowest vaccination coverage while hospitalizations were higher by 3.7-fold, compared to the states with the highest vaccination rates.
