UK Panel Not in Favor of Giving COVID-19 Vaccines to Healthy Children

The independent advisory body on vaccines of the UK government has stated that it would not recommend vaccinating all children aged between 12 and 15 years of age against COVID-19, emphasizing that the benefits were "too small". 

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has been analyzing the issue after several countries started vaccinating young teenagers. It has recommended that the approved COVID-19 vaccines be offered to all 16- and 17-year-olds but for the 12- to 15-year-olds, it has recommended vaccinating only those who have underlying health conditions, which make them more prone to the infection.
