Obesity increases risk of disability post-joint surgery

 According to a study published online December 13, 2018 in the British Journal of Anaesthesia, 22% of people who underwent joint surgery became dependent two years post-surgery. Being obese was associated with 35% higher risk of dependence after surgery than not being obese.
