Around 12,000 bedridden with viral fever in Firozabad in UP

Nearly 12,000 individuals in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad are bedridden with a viral fever, stated health department sources. 

The death toll due to the illness on Sunday rose to 114, which includes 88 children. The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had confirmed last week that the district is witnessing a dengue outbreak. The deaths continue to rise in spite of extensive fogging and door-to-door surveys to drain out stagnant water and to check the spread of vector-borne diseases. Government hospitals continue to struggle to arrange beds as treatment cost in private hospitals has increased tremendously.
