Significant Decline in Antibodies within 4 Months of COVID Vaccination: Indian Study

According to a study, posted on the Research Square pre-print platform, including 614 fully vaccinated healthcare workers in India, there seems to be significant decline in the antibodies within four months of the first COVID-19 vaccine dose.

However, declining antibodies do not indicate that the vaccinated individuals lose the ability to fight the disease, as the body′s memory cells may still be able to provide a considerable amount of protection. Sanghamitra Pati of the Regional Medical Research Centre, Bhubaneswar, stated that after six months, they should be able to suggest whether and when a booster dose may be required. Pati called for similar studies in different parts of the country in order to have pan-India data.
