Vietnam Approves Cuba's COVID-19 Vaccine amid Worst COVID Outbreak

Vietnam has approved the use of Cuba′s COVID-19 vaccine, Abdala, in the country, revealed the government on Saturday. The country is fighting its worst COVID-19 outbreak.

Abdala is the eighth COVID vaccine to be approved for use in Vietnam. The country has one of the lowest vaccination coverage rates in the region. Only 6.3% of its population has received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. A government statement said that the ministry of health has approved the vaccine driven by the countrys urgent need for its fight against the pandemic.

The country has registered 667,650 COVID-19 cases and 16,637 fatalities, with a huge proportion recorded in the Delta outbreak from late April… (NDTV – Reuters, September 18, 2021)
