The director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Rochelle Walensky, stated that she recommends booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine for at-risk workers in order to protect essential workers and minority communities, in spite of the fact that the advisory committee of the agency has voted against the move.

The government is set to roll out booster doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for individuals aged 65 years and above, adults with underlying health conditions and people in high-risk working and institutional settings.
