Kerala records 11,000 new COVID-19 cases, test positivity rate below 12%

Kerala recorded 11,196 COVID-19 cases with a test positivity rate of 11.60% on Tuesday when the results of 96,436 samples tested in the previous 24 hours arrived.

The state reported a total of 149 COVID-related deaths, with the toll now reaching 24,811. Overall, 18,849 patients recovered from COVID in the state on Tuesday. Thiruvananthapuram registered the highest number of cases at 1,339. 

The total number of active cases stands at 1,49,356. According to the weekly infection population ratio (WIPR), 745 wards in 368 local bodies have a WIPR of over 10%. These wards have been subjected to stringent lockdown restrictions.
