COVID Cases in Children Rise in UK a Month after Schools Reopened

COVID-19 infections in England rose in the week ending September 25, stated Britain′s Office for National Statistics, which was driven by an increase in cases in school-age children.

Schools in England have been open for about a month now. England had an estimated prevalence of 4.58% among secondary school-age children, which translates to over 1 in 25 testing positive for COVID-19, compared to 2.81% among children in this age group testing positive in the previous week. The overall prevalence in England was 1 in 85, which was slightly higher from 1 in 90 in the previous week.
