India conducted more than 11 lakh COVID tests in 24 hours

Over 11 lakh COVID-19 tests were conducted in India in 24 hours, reported the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday.

A total of 11,81,314 samples were tested on Monday to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the number of tests conducted in the country thus far to 59,31,06,188.

The Health Ministry informed on Monday that the country logged 13,058 fresh COVID-19 infections in a span of 24 hours, which is the lowest in 231 days.

The active caseload in the country stood at 1,83,118, the lowest in 227 days. Overall, 98.67 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
