1 in 7 Older Adults in US Given COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Dose

About 1 in 7 (around 15%) of people in the United States, ages 65 and above, have received a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, suggest estimates.

Public health officials are urging vulnerable individuals to get an additional dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The US FDA has recommended a booster shot for older adults, those having a high risk for severe COVID-19, and those living and working in high-risk environments. As of Monday, nearly 10.7 million Americans had been administered a booster shot, revealed CDC data. Of these, about 6.7 million were given to older adults.

Meanwhile, around 96% of people aged 65 and above have received at least one vaccine dose, and 84% are fully vaccinated… (Medscape)
