This week, India registered around the same number of COVID-19 cases as logged in the past seven days, with a drop of just 1%. Cases increased in several states after the festivals.

A little more than 1,08,500 new cases were registered in the week of October 18-24. The week saw a decline of mere 1,200 cases compared to the previous week’s figure of 1,09,760. In the last week, the cases had fallen by more than 27% and in the week prior to that, by 18%.

Bengal reported a rise in cases of 41%, Assam saw a 42% rise, and Himachal Pradesh logged a 25% increase. Kerala recorded a 2.5% surge in weekly cases, while Karnataka reported a 4% increase in cases… (ET Healthworld – TNN, October 25, 2021)
