The rapid fever survey, currently underway, has identified almost 900 people in Gurugram suffering from fever, which represents a six-year high.

About 150 cases were reported from urban areas and 750 were from rural areas. Around 250 cases are of dengue. No deaths have been reported thus far.

A door-to-door survey is being done by a team from the health department, looking out for people who have fever. Patients in rural areas were found to be self-medicating at home as they did not take the fever seriously.

The officials have asked them to get tested and take the prescribed treatment. They have also been given medicines.

Patients from urban areas have consulted doctors and are under treatment. Private doctors and hospitals have been told to conduct dengue tests on all patients presenting with fever. A senior official from the health department stated that the fever cases are under control at present. Diagnostic and treatment facilities are being provided to the patients and they are being monitored closely.

The cases have been seen in six major hotspots and fogging is being done in these areas.
