Russia registered record high numbers of daily COVID-19 cases while some central European countries imposed new COVID restrictions on Monday.

Russia recorded 37,930 fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday, which represents the country’s highest single-day case count since the pandemic started. The vaccination rate in the country has been slow and the authorities are now introducing more stringent measures to check the spread of the virus. President Vladimir Putin had declared earlier that October 30 to November 7 would be paid non-working days.
