Children aged 6 months can now also be given the Fluarix quadrivalent flu vaccine

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded the indication for the four-strain influenza vaccine Fluarix Quadrivalent (GlaxoSmithKline) to children as young as 6 months. The vaccine is approved for use in adults and children aged 3 years and older to prevent disease due to seasonal influenza virus subtypes A and B.
