On Thursday, India recorded its highest COVID recovery rate since March last year at 98.20%, revealed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

A total of 17,095 patients recovered from the disease in 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,36,14,434. The country’s total caseload reached 3,42,31,809, as 16,156 fresh COVID-19 infections were registered in a day. The active caseload in the country stood at 1,60,989, the lowest in 243 days. The active cases currently comprise 0.47% of the country′s total positive cases, which is the lowest figure since March last year.

The health ministry data revealed that 733 new deaths were reported in a span of 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 4,56,386. The fatality rate stood at 1.33%... (ET Healthworld – ANI, October 28, 2021)
