Complete blood count to be done for every fever patient, health officials in Mathura instructed

MATHURA: Health department officers in Mathura have been told to carry out a complete blood count (CBC) test of every fever patient, stated a senior state government officer.

Mayur Maheshwari, Mukhya Karyapalak Adhikari Industries, Kanpur, had told local officials in a meeting on Friday to get a CBC done for every fever patient as a precautionary measure to curb dengue. He instructed the Mathura Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to get sampling done for dengue in every case where patient presents with any symptoms of the fever.

Maheshwari, also the nodal officer for COVID-19 for Mathura, stated that sampling of at least 100 people should be done every day at every community health center. He also directed the CMO to obtain maximum samples from dengue-hit villages. The district inspector of schools was told to ensure that there is no water stagnation in or around schools and the inter college.

Cleanliness around schools was emphasized with regular spray of anti-larva chemical or DDT at vulnerable areas. Agriculture and revenue officials were instructed to determine the actual loss caused to paddy crop due to the heavy rains recently. The meeting was concluded with emphasis on advance preparations to counter COVID-19. 

The nodal officer made surprise checks at Nagar Palika Parishad, Kosikalan, CHC Kosikalan, a school in Dautana village of Chhata tehsil, and Mathura New Bus Stand, and instructions were given to those in-charge.
