COVID-19 deaths cross five million globally

Over five million people across the globe are reported to have died due to COVID-19, nineteen months since the pandemic began, revealed data from the Johns Hopkins University.

Some health experts indicate that the true toll could be much more. Around 250 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered globally.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the actual global death toll could be two to three times higher than what the official records state. In the United States, over 745,800 people have died due to the virus, making it the nation with the highest number of deaths reported. Next in line are Brazil, with 607,824 recorded deaths, and India, with 458,437 fatalities… (BBC, November 1, 2021)
