Delhi: Every 2nd adult fully vaccinated against COVID-19

NEW DELHI: Every second adult in the national capital is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and around nine of 10 eligible people have received at least one vaccine dose. A total of 42,345 vaccine doses, including 29,593 second jabs, were administered in Delhi till 8pm on Friday.

The cumulative number of doses administered is 2,06,35,836 and the number of fully vaccinated individuals stood at 75,24,737, as per the CoWin dashboard. 

The approximate number of eligible individuals in the city is 1.5 crore. Of these, 50.2% have received both vaccine doses. A total of 1,31,11,099 first doses have been administered thus far, taking the proportion of eligible people who have received at least one dose to 87.4%.

The northwest district has administered over 24.5 lakh cumulative doses. While around 16 lakh first doses have been administered in the northwest district, the southwest district has administered around 15 lakh doses.

The southwest district is slightly ahead in terms of fully vaccinated people (8,80,949) compared with the northwest district (8,59,440). The west district has administered a total of 8,34,214 second doses. These three districts together account for around 34.2% of fully vaccinated people in the city.

The northeast district has 4,02,133 fully vaccinated people with 13,15,048 total doses administered. Shahdara (5,33,293) and the north district (5,70,835) have also administered less than six lakh second doses.

Nearly two lakh vaccine doses were being administered every day till about a month ago, but the number has declined to about 75,000 on average per day now. 

About 64.4% of the total doses given so far have been administered to people in the 18-44 years age category, and 23.7% have been administered to those aged 45-59 years. Those aged 60 years and above have received 12% of the total number of doses.
