All Adults 59 Years and Below Should Get Hepatitis B Vaccine: ACIP

The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) unanimously voted to recommend that all adults ages 59 years and below, and those ages 60 years and above having risk factors for hepatitis B virus (HBV), should be vaccinated against HBV.

The committee voted 15-0 to recommend this idea for HBV vaccination, and also voted to recommend expanded use of Ebola vaccine and vaccine against orthopoxviruses. It also approved the 2022 adult and childhood immunization schedules.

Pre-exposure vaccination with rVSVΔG-ZEBOV-GP was recommended for healthcare personnel (HCPs) who are involved in caring for or transporting Ebola patients at special pathogens treatment centers, as well as laboratory workers and other support staff working at Laboratory Response Network facilities who are involved in handling replication-competent Ebola virus specimens… (Medpage Today)
