Zydus Cadila is going to provide one crore doses of its COVID-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D to the Center for vaccination of children and young adults in the 12 to 18 years age group. The price of the vaccine has been fixed at Rs 265 per dose and Rs 93 for the needle-free applicator, excluding GST, after several rounds of discussion with the government.

ZyCoV-D is the first vaccine globally to use the DNA plasmid technology. It is also the first needle-free COVID-19 vaccine which can reduce the side effects to a significant level and help the DNA plasmid reach the desired location for effective immunization.
