France to Make COVID Vaccine Booster Mandatory for People Above 65

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that people aged over 65 years in France will be required to show the proof of a COVID-19 booster shot in order to be allowed to visit restaurants, attend cultural events and take intercity trains.

He stated that people above 65 years of age will have to show the proof of a booster jab to expand the validity of their health pass starting December 15. Since the month of August, the pass has become a part of life for many people in France. The new rule which applies to people above 65 will further tighten one of the most stringent such practices in Europe.

The President announced that the government would introduce a campaign in December for those aged 50-64 years to have booster shots… (NDTV – AFP, November 10, 2021)
