Haryana reports the highest Dengue toll since 2015

Haryana has officially confirmed 8,819, dengue cases which are the highest in the last five years. In 2017, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2020 official dengue cases reported were 4550, 2494, 1936, 1207, and 1377, respectively.

Health officials have said that the rise in dengue cases might be due to the prolonged monsoon and warned that the number of cases might further increase.

Districts that have seen a spike in the dengue cases include Fatehabad (916), Panchkula (792), Hisar (755), Sirsa (718), Sonipat (683), Kaithal (675), and Ambala (558).

On Sunday, Haryana reported three dengue deaths from Fatehabad, Hisar, and Nuh, which took the death toll to 4, the highest since 2015. In 2015, dengue had claimed 13 lives, but from 2016 till this year, no death due to dengue was reported.
